2000 – The year of the Fruit. Balance, elegance, and purity of fruit characterize the vintage.

Severe frost in mid May nearly annihilated the vintage, wiping out about 75% of our Pinot crop. The little that was left turned out quite promising: deep black-fruit character, and great purity, harmony, and length. Smooth, satin-like texture.

Tasting Date:   5/16/2009 – At our Spring Celebration lineup: gorgeous nose - fully expanded and complex; still has all of its freshness and fruit in the mouth, no signs of decline on the horizon - this can go on for many more years, showing great balance and texture today.

Tasting Date:   10/17/2007 – This may now be at the early times of its peak: the wine still has all of "its faculties" like concentration, fruit, structure, and yet is fully expanded aromatically. It begins to show some hints of mature aromas of chocolate and moccha alongside its fruit and intese flowery essences. How do you describe the aromas of a maturing Pinot? I'll leave it to poets and wine writers to do perform this miracle...

Tasting Date:   6/5/2005 – A graceful, poised, well proportioned Pinot, it has less structure and spice than most of our other vintages, and more supply, fruity character. Probably in its "teenage" right now, neither youthful and vigorous nor old and sagacious, it seems about 2-4 years away from its full maturity.

Tasting Date:   1/1/2003 – This wine seems to keep increasing in body and depth as it ages. From the start it was lavish in pure fruit (black cherry, black raspberry), bottle age is adding spicy/minerally complexity. Long and beautifully balanced.
