Newly released:
2008 Home Vineyard Pinot Noir. Medium bodied and well balanced, with its usual combination of complex fruit-mineral-spice-earthy flavors.
2009 Tickled Noir. Not a part of our yearly production, this is a rosé of Pinot Noir. Very light (11.2%Alc), slighly fizzy, and dry, with lovely aromas of apples and flowers. Delicate and refreshing. Only 27 cases made, and now nearly sold out!
2005 Black Pearl. Our "Bordeaux varieties plus Syrah" blend, with its usual power & concentration, with greater purity and elegance this time around.
Currently in stock:
2009 Carte Blanche. Our white blend of Sauvignon Blanc (38%), Viognier (27%), Chardonnay (19%), and Roussanne (16%). Medium bodied and very concentrated, with penetrating aromas of herbs, delicate flowers, and minerals. Intensely flavored yet elegantly restraint and beautifully balanced. In our view, one of the finest we have produced to date.
2009 Tickled Pink. A dry rosé made of 100% Syrah. Light (12.2% alcohol), dry, very lively and refreshing with a slight fizz and a pure, delicately bitter finish. A must for anyone who believes that California cannot/does not produce any classic rosé. This is also nearly gone by now.
2005 Heart of Stone Syrah.
Syrah, as much as Pinot Noir, is our specialty. Our vineyards produce a very distictive, terroir-expressive wine by comparison to most California Syrahs. As a vintage, 2005 excells in its black-fruit & spicy intensity and richness of texture; power and elegance, a well-integrated oak component, and no hint of over-ripeness or high alcohol. We believe that this wine has a great aging potential, and will keep evolving for decades. (97% Syrah, 3% Viognier).
2005 "La Cuvee Mysterieuse" Red blend
A delicious wine from the superb 2005 vintage. The wine is intense in flavors and aromas, while tasting natural, relaxed, harmonious, and gentle. For us, it combines the best qualities of the New and Old World: delicious now, and yet showing the potential for extended cellaring.
2006 "Texas Hill Rd Vineyard" Pinot Noir
Our first release since taking on the farming of this one-acre vineyard - shows the typical underlying wild streak with refinement and elegance; ripe, dark, and sensuous. Should age for 10-15 more years easily. This one is also running out, and - due to frost damage - no wine was proudced from this vineayrd in the next three vintages.
2003 Holy Moly! (Grenache/Syrah/Mourvedre). Has the expected Southern-Rhone-like funk and delicious sides, plus a powerful backbone for further aging if so wished. A perfect match for duck or venison.
