Pinot Too
Deeply colored, intense, concentrated, and structured, this is not exactly an inconsequential little wine. Pure fruit, herbal spices, and minerals are its main characteristics. It will reward a few years of cellaring.
Tasting Notes
Tasting Date: 5/22/2005 Finally - - this prodigal son is crawling out of its reductive self (=the dark side), once again showing its more seductive appealing flowery (big roses), deeply fruity (dark dark cherry), earthy, minerally, very spicy and oh so vibrant array of delights... This wine is astonishing in its concentration (not to be confused with overripeness!), muscular structure, and depth of flavor. It's mostly made from young vines, for goodness sakes. True - it will take years to fulfil its promise, but what a promise it is! Tough competition for the "Home Vineyard".
Tasting Date: 3/4/2005 First tasting since bottling, at the WOPN: Much bigger and more concentrated than the 02 version. Dense, velvety textured, and very youthful (still a little "reduced"). This actually needs some time, or at least a good 6 hour decanting! Lots of depth, ripe fruit, spices; well balanced.
